Les Florettes
Oppede- le- Vieux / Vaucluse

'Les Florettes' is a rare, unique and absolutely delightful gem. The property we read about, we see in glossy magazine photographs and we dream of visiting.

In the heart of the Luberon Valley, nestled in the hills below the medieval village of Oppede-le-Vieux and with neighbouring villages such as Menerbes and Bonnieux, the location is ideal, the house stunning, the creature comforts and services luxurious.

When one arrives at 'Les Florettes' there is a delightful "welcome basket" of wines, seasonal fresh fruits and breads. A cold light meal for you to eat when you've settled in is waiting. During your stay the housekeeper will clean each morning.
Nothing much for you to do other than relax!

'Les Florettes' is totally private, no neighbours to see or hear. The 'WOW' factor is extraordinary when you arrive at the end of the private lane, through the electric gates and ..... before you lies 200 years or more of gorgeous old stone house, stunning and colourful gardens, total peace and quiet.

Having said that......just a 20 minute walk to the village for your morning baguettes and croissants, for a Pastis, coffee or dinner, means you've all those features close at hand.

The garden is beautifully landscaped, having been created with the utmost sympathy for the natural surroundings, retaining the flow of the gentle slopes, the native plants and the calm aesthetic.

The house very comfortably sleeps ten people, and each one of those ten people could sit in solitude, communing with nature (with eyelids closed perhaps!) in a different area of the garden.

Tables for dining, writing, reading, chairs and loungers for the afternoon siesta, scouring the guide books, awaiting a cocktail...... died and gone to heaven? Absolutely!

We have a wonderful tradition here ... sipping an 'apero' whilst playing a game of boules/petanque. You'll love it, and there's plenty of room in front of the house to challenge your friends and test your skills!

This 300m2 house and it's surrounding 4.5 hectare garden lies in a valley of olive trees, oak trees and natural bushland. The valley is wide, welcoming and sunny, the only sounds being of happy birdlife!

Surrounding the house there are oodles of superb dining and realxing areas. Whether it be shade or sunshine, by the pool or the house, the choice is yours and dicated by your whim of the moment.

Les Florettes basks in its own private corner of Paradise.

Private terraced land and garden of 4.5 hectares.

A beautiful mix of nature at it's most refined and gently wild.

This is the sort of history, aesthetic and lifestyle that makes us realise why, over the centuries, some of the most prolific, talented and best writers and artists have either been born or lived here, been inspired by and chosen to remain here.

Poetic, mesmerising, tranquil and relaxing.

Olive groves, oak trees, rows of lavender and drystone walls. Colour and perfume - gentle on the senses.

Wildflowers abound with views of the old village of Oppede-le-Vieux, crowned by the ruins of an old Chateau and church, dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.

Concealed amongst the living nature, with fabulous views down the valley, the gazebo is a very special spot to sit and commune with nature.

Throughout the area there are some amazing walking trains. One section of the Grande randonee passes close by. The walks can be gentle or challenging, short (to the village for coffee!) or long (as far as the legs will allow!).

Stone terraces, casual eating areas, hidden corners and many of them!

'Les Florettes' has all day sunshine but with delightful shady areas if you'd rather.

A lovely old 'stairway to heaven' leads to the most beautiful iron gazebo with its traditional zink spire and a beautiful climbing yellow rose. The views from here are quite superb and extensive, the seclusion sublime!

Within Provence, the Vaucluse region and the Luberon Valley, one can find any degree of lifestyle. The same can be said for 'Les Florettes'. Delightfully sophisticated indoor dining, with lovely linens, glasses, silverware and decor. Should you desire an evening of entertaining, celebration, a special occasion, don't hesitate to ask Fabienne to cook for you. Her skills are refined, her use of the local fresh produce and her creation of traditional foods, quite delicious!

Casual dining under the rose covered trellis or a bbq on the back terrace. "Sophisticated Bohemien" sounds good to me!

A well equipped kitchen with an induction cook-top, electric oven, oodles of fridge and freezer space, a microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and all the utensils needed to create your gourmet masterpieces.

Double glass doors lead to a lovely trellis and rose covered terrace. For day or night, this al fresco dining area is intimate and friendly.

When one thinks of Provence, one thinks of sunshine, swimming, chilled wines and outdoor markets buzzing with life. One should not forget the delights of the cooler months. Intimate indoor dining, salivatingly good red wines sipped beside the open fire, outdoor and indoor markets alike .... easy parking!

A wonderful mix of antique furniture, traditional iron furniture, modern comforts and always lots of light. The decor throughout this 300m2 house is of the highest quality and has been well thought out with comfort uppermost in mind.

Three of the bedrooms share two bathrooms. Each of these bathrooms has a bath with a hand held shower, w.c., hand basin and heated towel rails.

Each of the bedrooms has air-conditioning for the summer months which ensures a cool and restful nights sleep.

On the ground floor there is an additional shower room with w.c. and hand basin.

'Les Florettes" offers a selection of bedrooms and bed configurations. There are three bedrooms with double beds, one with twin beds and one with twin beds which can also be made up as a king sized bed.

The 'master bedroom' (is that still politically correct?!) is spacious, light and intimate. It's 'open-plan' ensuite bathroom has a bath, a seperate shower, marble sinks, w.c. and air-conditioning. A collection of antique furnishings, good reading lights, quality linens and garden views, essential ingredients for a relaxing moment.
