Le Cerisier
Ménerbes / Vaucluse

Le Cerisier, a 19th century farmhouse, is a family residence situated in the beautiful countryside just 15 minutes walk (just over one kilometer) from the centre of Menerbes, the charming hillside village described by Peter Mayle in "A Year in Provence".

Sleeps 14

The 11 x 5 metre swimming pool sits comfortably in the garden to the rear of the property, protected by an alarm for the protection of children. The garden is huge with a lovely grassy haven to the front, areas with cherry trees just below and more wilder grassy areas to the rear with woodland to the south. It covers several hectares with lots of room for 14 people to lose themselves (and find themselves) in.

The kitchen opens out into the suntrap patio area. This area is ideal for breakfast, barbecue etc.

The house is lived in most of the year by the family, and only personal items are removed during lets. This adds a dimension to the house which cannot normally be found in rented accommodation. You sense the warmth and character normally unassociated with holiday rentals.

The converted barn has 2 double bedrooms, a shower room and a water closet. It also benefits from a private sun terrace.

Six acres of wonderful Provencal countryside surround the house and gardens, including a cherry orchard, hillside scrub and woodland, with pine, oak, olive, fig, pear, plum and almond trees.

As well as the Luberon National Park the Mont Ventoux is
in easy access, providing a wealth of summer and winter
outdoor activities, such as skiing, rockclimbing, hiking,
cycling, horseriding, grass-skiing, paragliding. Cycling tours
are available for those who want to explore Provence
on two wheels.

Bicycles can be hired in the nearby village of Lacoste.

All the bedrooms are light and airy, decorated in the bright Provencal style.
