Set in a large, partly wooded, garden, this house is ideally located between the historic perched villages of Menerbes and Lacoste and is the perfect jumping-off point for visiting the many delights of the Luberon and the Vaucluse. Menerbes is a 10 minute drive away and therefore handy for all local shopping requirements, with the larger supermarkets at Coustellet some 20 minutes away. Designer Pierre Cardin has bought the Chateau at Lacoste, once the home of the famous Marquis de Sade, and has also invested heavily in other properties in the village which now boasts chic restaurants and cafes and an annual music festival. The delightful market town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, with its weekly market and myriad antique shops, is half an hour away.

The kitchen isn't enormous, but it has been recently refurbished to a a high standard and is fully equipped, including having a large fridge and a big, range-style cooker. The lovely stone floors and the grey cupboards give a typically Provencal feeling to the room. There is also a separate WC just off the kitchen with a feature 'bucket-style' basin!

The whole of one side of the sitting-dining room consists of windows and French doors, making it incredibly light. The doors give on to the enclosed courtyard so there is a wonderful 'flow' to the house between kitchen, dining, sitting and the outside. There are two large, comfy sofas, a big wall-mounted flatscreen TV with both English and French channels and a DVD player. The A-frame beamed ceiling gives a characterful feel to the whole room which is complemented by the feature cement floor. For those wishing to keep in touch with family or work, there is Wifi throughout the house.

All the bathrooms have been designed to a high standard. Parquet flooring ensure cosy toes and the Italian-style showers are roomy and functional

The separately accessed bedroom is small but attractively designed and furnished. It again has parquet flooring, a small double bed and an en-suite shower, WC and basin.

A pretty covered terrace provides yet another option for outdoor dining and is also perfectly situated for those wanting to survey any children using the pool. Equipped with comfortable seating this is also an ideal place to read or play cards or have a quiet siesta. For those feeling a little more energetic, just around the corner is a boules court and there is also a large gas barbecue.

There are 3 bedrooms in the main house and they all have en-suite bath or shower rooms. The twin-bedded room is ideal for children and has a window over-looking the courtyard. It has it's own walk-in shower, basin and WC and a large cupboard containing all the linen necessary for your stay.

There is a pretty, beamed double bedroom at ground floor level with an en-suite bathroom featuring a Victorian-style roll-top bath, large walk-in shower and double-basins.

The master bedroom at first floor level has a pretty window overlooking the courtyard, a large en-suite bathroom and ample hanging space.
