A gentle 15 minute stroll from the delightful village of Eygalieres in the Alpilles mountains of Provence. An exquisit village, a superb, welcoming and very relaxing house. One of the owners is an architect. Her detailed planning and finer touches both in construction and creature comforts, are very apparent and greatly appreciated!  
One of the most appealing things about Le Lavendin is its situation. The wide open spaces, the extensive views, the proximity to the village and though there are neighbours, you have total privacy and comfort.  The use of aromatic lavender, rosemary, thyme and more, all well suited to the sunny climate of Provence, tickle the senses. Whether the weather be gorgeous, grey or anywhere inbetween, the covered or open terraces and the huge covered but open summer kitchen and dining area, provide an extension to the living areas and (as we all love) a choice of where we'd like to be. |

The delightful tones of cream, grey and aubergine, the open plan design and the abundance of light on all sides combine to create a very fresh, gently sophisticated and extremely friendly atmosphere. The large, very well equipped kitchen opens onto the dining area which then opens on to the lounge. From all of these areas there are doors to the terraces and lovely views of the garden and its colours. 
Both the indoor and outdoor lounging areas are very well furnished with "squishy" sofas and cushioned armchairs, coffee tables and good light.  |
 
Should all of this look just TOO laid back, then you could take a brisk walk into the village (the usual 10 minute stroll could be cut in half!), rent a bike from the local fellow who's wonderfully helpful, then peddle off around the area, chosing the trails between the vineyards and through the olive groves, or take up the challenge of the gentle hills and build up an appetite for the next indulgance! (There's a great icecream shop next door to the bike rental place!!) |

The configuration and placement of the bedrooms and bathrooms is excellent. The options are yours and to suit your family or group.  Also on the ground floor is a bedroom which houses three single (90cm) beds. These can be left as single beds, or two can be made up as a king (180cm) sized bed. So depending on the configuration of adults and children, family/friends, the rooms can be adapted to suit.  On the first floor of the house, the bedroom and bathroom configurations are the same as on the ground floor. One bedroom with three single beds which could also be one king and one single.  The 4th bedroom, also on the first floor, is again furnished with a queen sized bed, good reading lights and excellent hanging space. The polished wooden floors are warm, the decore relaxing, the spaciousness appreciated.  |
 Double French doors open from the bedroom to the terrace and garden, the reading lights are excellent, the hanging and drawer space extraordinary! with polished wooden floors and gentle colours, this bedroom is wonderfully private, spacious and comfortable. 
The ensuite bath/shower room for this bedroom has a bath with shower over, hand basin and w.c. 
The ensuite showeroom for the "multi" bedroom has shower, hand basin and w.c.  The ensuite shower room for this bedroom has a large shower, two hand basins, w.c. and again, plenty of space for your personal bits and pieces and room to manoeuvre the towel and the hair dryer without a problem! Le Lavendin would work well for four couples, each with bedroom and ensuite. It would be ideal for two families, each with their own bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor. If it's a group of friends, some couples and several singles..... the bedroom/bed configuration is all there. Advance notice of how you would like the beds configured would be a great help! |
